What is a reseller tracker?

A reseller tracker keeps track of what you bought, what's on the way, what you sold and what you actually made. Here's what a good one does, and how ScoutNScale does it for you.

The four things a reseller tracker should track

1. Purchases. Every order you place, with what you paid including tax and shipping. Most trackers make you type these in. Scout reads your order emails from Target, Walmart, Amazon, Pokémon Center, Nike, Foot Locker, Funko, Pop Mart and more, so purchases fill themselves in.

2. Incoming stock. Orders that haven't arrived yet are still inventory. Scout follows every package from ordered to delivered, catches cancels and delivery date changes, and shows what's arriving each day.

3. Sales. Scale pulls in every eBay sale and payout automatically, and lets you add local, Tradepost and other sales by hand. Bundles are split per item, so stock stays right.

4. Real profit. Payout after eBay's fees, minus what that unit actually cost you, minus the shipping label. Scale reads Pirate Ship, Shippo and ShipStation label emails and matches each label to its sale.

Spreadsheet vs. app vs. ScoutNScale

A spreadsheet is free but only as good as your typing, and it never knows what's still in the mail. Most reseller apps are inventory lists you keep up by hand, usually on a monthly subscription. ScoutNScale fills itself in from your email and eBay, runs on your own Mac or Windows PC so your data stays with you, and costs $30 once.

What you see every day

Stock you own, split into in hand, on the way, sold and free to sell. Profit for today, the month and all time. Discord alerts the moment something sells, ships or gets canceled, and a phone app for all of it. Every number opens the math behind it.
